Now I am officially done with finals and my life in the land down under is quickly coming to an end. We will be starting our journey back home today.
It’s hard to believe that in an hour and a half it is already time to leave my
home at UTAS. I thought I would write a long post about how great this semester
was, but now I don’t really think it’s necessary and it will probably make me
break down. I’ll just keep it short instead.
This has an absolutely incredible semester and I am so
thankful for all the experiences I have been fortunate to have here. Tasmania
was amazing, but this semester wouldn’t have been the same without all the
amazing people I was surrounded by. Saying goodbyes was probably the hardest
part of the last five months. Right now I am sitting with Tanner and Flos
watching Pink Panther 2 and eating Tim Tams and popcorn. It is the perfect way to end a wonderful
semester. I have had the time of my life studying in the land down under. I
have always dreamed of coming to Australia and I am beyond happy to say that it
exceeded all my expectation. I will miss so much about this country, but I
refuse to say this is the last time I’ll be here. I don’t think I could get on
the plane today knowing this was the last time I would see this beautiful
place. I know there is more I could say, but I think I’ll leave it at that. I
will just take the advice of one of my favorite teachers, Mrs. Fischer, and “go
with a smile on my [your] face and a song in my [your] heart”. Thank you Tasmania for everything… I
definitely have memories to last a lifetime!
After 5 months I am definitely ready to see my family and
friends smiling faces though. Thank you so much for all your support while I
have been here. I especially want to thank my parents for pushing me out of the
country and encouraging me to go abroad. Without their support and willingness
to help me go abroad I wouldn’t have been able to have any of these
experiences. See everyone at home in a little more than 24 hours! You all better prepare yourselves for HUGE
hugs, because after 141 days Tanner and I are finally STATE BOUND!
Love Always,
Bobbi
